The things people ask most about RLCS Draft.
Yes, completely. There's nothing to buy and no roster locked behind a paywall. You can play everything without an account; signing in with Discord is optional and only saves your collection and leaderboard placements across devices.
No. RLCS Draft is a fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Psyonix, Epic Games, or the RLCS. It's made by a fan to celebrate the competitive scene. See the About page for more.
Your roster gets a score out of 99 that's a weighted average of your picks' ratings — it's the same every time for the same picks. Winning Worlds or sweeping is a separate outcome layer with some run-to-run variance. Full detail is on the Ratings page and How to Play.
Because the score is an average, weighted across all six picks. Three 99s can't carry a weaker 2v2 partner, a mid coach and a low-rated org — those still pull the total down. Most genuinely strong rosters land in the high 80s to mid 90s, so the leaderboard is often decided by one or two points at the top. To climb, lift your weakest links rather than swapping one 99 for another.
Shinies are rare holographic versions of players tied to an iconic career moment, with boosted ratings. They can appear on any spin. Win the World Championship with one on your roster to collect it, and chase the full set on the ✨ Shinies grail wall.
Win Worlds with a player on your roster and their card is permanently added to your Collection Log. Complete a full set — a season, an RLCS X region, or every card from an organisation — to mint a one-of-a-kind reward card.
Standard is the classic six-slot draft. Gauntlet has you draft specialists across 1v1/2v2/3v3 plus a coach and org. Daily Showmatch is one fixed puzzle a day, the same for everyone, so you can compare scores directly with friends.
Rerolls and visibility. Easy gives three rerolls, Normal one, Hard none — and on Hard, player ratings are hidden, so you're drafting on instinct.
Ratings are judgement calls informed by competitive results, era context and the community, rated per team-season and per format. They're not perfect — every card has a 🚩 button to suggest a different rating, and accepted changes get published on the changelog. See the Ratings methodology.
